Island Residence
After honeymooning on the Garden Isle, a Seattle-based couple fell in love with Kauai and made it a regular retreat. Years later, they found the perfect property in Kealia Kai to build a second home—a private haven to share with family and friends.
Perched atop an eastern bluff and surrounded by lush tropical landscape, the custom residence captures the spirit of classic Hawaiian Plantation-style architecture, reimagined with modern sensibility. Double-pitched roofs not only enhance the home’s graceful silhouette but also promote natural ventilation, supporting a lifestyle that flows effortlessly between indoors and out.
Lava rock walls add both texture and a deep sense of place. Handcrafted mahogany finishes bring richness, warmth, and a subtle contrast to the home’s light-filled spaces. Expansive lanais blur the boundaries between architecture and nature, offering a seamless blend of elegance and island ease.
Every detail—from design to construction—was thoughtfully considered to celebrate local craftsmanship, natural materials, and the timeless beauty of Kauai.
