NW Idea House 2023

This luxury home was uniquely designed specific to the site, from its flow to its massing as it relates to very strict height requirements of the City of Clyde Hill. The house follows the slope and terraces to maintain two story height above the plane of the grade, resulting in generous west facing decks on main and upper floors.

One of the exceptional features of this home is that while it is very prominent on the street, all the primary living spaces, that include office and primary bedroom, as well kitchen with great room and dining, are not exposed to the street, and are facing views to the West or the untouched natural vistas to the North. This home evokes the feeling of being in a tree house, especially with primary bedroom, with its floor to ceiling windows cantilevering over the base of the structure. Or the great room, flanked by a covered patio whose slab appears to suspend above the dropping terrain beyond.

That connection between the street and suburban living, and the natural beauty of this gorgeous site is experienced immediately as one enters the house, with the foyer that extends all the way to the back of the house with the view of the trees and the garden beyond.
